Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on Friday. Issued
0427z, 19th October 2009. The weekend will see low pressure to the west with southerlies across the UK. Rain is likely almost anywhere, but especially so in the south and southwest. ECMWF: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Recm1201.gif The UK lies under southerlies with a trough over the UK. Southerlies strengthen on day 6 as a low deepens to the west, but on day 7 the souotherlies weaken as the low continues moving northwards, away from the UK. MetO: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rukm1201.gif A deep low lies to the NW, bringing southerlies for all. A secondary low develops to the SW on day 6, resulting in SSE'lies. GFS: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rtavn1201.png Southerlies cover the UK, ahead of a low to the west. The low fills over Scotland on day 6, bringing SW'lies elsewhere. On day 7 the winds revert to southerlies again due to a trough to the west of Scotland. GEM: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rgem1201.gif The Canadian run has SSW'lies for all as the result of a large but slack low to the NW. JMA: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rjma1201.gif The Japanese run shows a col and light winds. |
