Just heard the new 'no nonsense' weather forecast on Radio 4 and what
a breath of fresh air the new style is. Delivered in the style of 'For the north of England; For the South West etc', which I last heard when Philip (Eden) used to provide the forecasts on Radio Five Live in the morning, I was amazed at how much of the content I could remember once the broadcast was finished. I've spoken to many over the years who have always said after hearing a forecast: "I never took in a word of that forecast...what's the weather going to be like tomorrow?" Even more surprising was that it was delivered by Tomasz Schafernaker! If he can do it in this style then any of them can (including Daniel Corbett) |
