Its a sad day way back when I was at school in Leeds I did a work
experience at the Leeds Weather Center. I met bob rust and a young John Mitchle and loved every minute. "Robert Brooks" wrote in message ... After 18 years of observations from the Leeds Weather Centre roof, (opposite the Fox and Newt if anyone knows the area) yesterday the 2 Sept 2003 saw the very last automatic observation. Manned Observations did not commence until 1985, they bacame automatic in September 2001 when Leeds Weather Centre officially closed. Of course ther are many sites around Leeds that still report on occasions, mine included. Rob Farsley Nr Leeds |
