Default Ping Nick - roofs blown off?

On local news last night there were reports of roofs being blown off in 2
houses in East Devon? Is this true? Wind howling loudly again here now at
0820.

Don't know anything about roofs being blown off Will but it is turning
very windy again after a slight lull overnight.

Lots of lightning going on for a couple of hours earlier on but nothing
nearby.

Wind now gusting up to 40 mph and increasing.

(09:10), 11.7°C, RH 81%, DP 8.4°C, 986 hPa (F), Wind 18 mph S.

Holy ****e!

The back low is a bit slower than anticipated yesterday and may still be
deepening.
Just been up to the top of my 3 storey house and with wind in present
direction I'm getting shelter from a 10 foot hedge line about 500 metres
away and higher up. Nevertheless the wind is still howling around and I
think a slate has come loose. Anemo is not in the best spot to sample the
speed as many large trees are now bending over alarmingly.

Full gale now on the open moor with Postbridge 36 knot mean and 50 knot
gusts, it will be higher than that on more exposed parts. When this moves
into more populated areas later today it could be newsworthy.
