Colin. Your image from DLR is for the 7th. Also the link is not permanent,
and may contain a differnt image at some later time.

I think the date is right, Bernard. The DLR image looks the same to me as
the one on your own site.

DLR ftp://taurus.caf.dlr.de/put/wetterbilder/UK/image1.jpg

Woksat http://www.woksat.info/etcrk17/rk17-1330-b-uk.html

However, I take your point that the DLR link is only correct for a limited
time.

I posted the link to the DLR image yesterday (16th) because your own NOAA 19
image had a very strong blue cast which made the cloud distribution rather
difficult to see.

It was only through laziness that I did not change the link back to your
image this evening.

That is strange, Colin. When I open the file
ftp://taurus.caf.dlr.de/put/wetterbilder/UK/image1.jpg
I get an image from the 7th October.

Oh...I have just tried putting that address in another browser. Now I get an
image from 0320 on the 18th November!

That's something I don't understand.

I suppose the browser you were using here had the old October 7th image
stored in its cache.

As you pointed out yourself, the DLR links are only valid temporarily.

ftp://taurus.caf.dlr.de/put/wetterbilder/UK/image1.jpg seems always to be
used for the most recent image on the DLR site. At present, that is the
03.09 image for today, 19th November.

ftp://taurus.caf.dlr.de/put/wetterbilder/UK/image2.jpg ("Image 2") is the
most recent but one image - at present the 10.51 image for 18th November.

The 03.20 image for 18th November which you saw yesterday is now "Image 3"
ftp://taurus.caf.dlr.de/put/wetterbilder/UK/image3.jpg .

The URLs which you use, each being unique to a particular image, are of
course much better.
