(Data since 1978) Local records to beat is: 136.5mm November 1970 (& 133.6mm) 2 different locations. 113.8mm November 1974 103.6mm November 1969 (John Pritchard & Bob Bedford) I guess, it is possible looking at that low over the next two days :-) -- Keith (Southend) http://www.southendweather.net e-mail: kreh at southendweather dot net |

Ok, now that my 24 hours has just turned (18hr to 18hr), this is how things stand after a steady fall of rain over the last hour or so leaving todays total at 25.6mm (The magic inch) November total thus far 125.8mm, so I'm looking at 10.8mm in the next 24 hours to beat the 1974 total of 136.5mm ~ Come on! -- Keith (Southend) http://www.southendweather.net e-mail: kreh at southendweather dot net |

Record well and truly broken with the total ending up as 143.0mm for November 2009. This is also 'my' second wettest month after narrowly being beaten by January 1988 which saw 147.6mm. -- Keith (Southend) http://www.southendweather.net e-mail: kreh at southendweather dot net |

Local records also reveal the wettest month was September 1968 with 171.5mm, I remember the flooding. Followed by:- October 1960 167.4mm September 1975 151.0mm June 1971 148.7mm Not conclusive, but often the following December's or January's have seen some cold weather. -- Keith (Southend) http://www.southendweather.net e-mail: kreh at southendweather dot net |
