I bet the BBC don't report this!

You remember the saying 'No smoke without fire' & 'smoking gun'.

It's starting to look like there's a little bit of truth in this one.

Oh, there's plenty of truth in it. He's probably been advised to
make himself scarce until the fuss dies down. I think this is the
thin edge of the wedge, and there will eventually be further
revelations. Clearly it is all a conspiracy despite the views of some
of those on this forum who denied that there could possibly be any
conspiracy in the AGW agenda. It was only a matter of time.

The sad thing is that the whole shebang is driven by money, and the
Bilderberg premise of global governance. Too many would have too much
to lose if the bandwagon faltered now, so they'll press on regardless,
steamrollering their way over those who question the science and
motives, brainwashing those who are susceptible, and ignoring those
who demur.

It's potentially the biggest, most damaging scam mankind has
experienced thus far - more so than any changing climate scenario
could possibly be. Smoke and mirrors, lies and deceit, but certainly
not science. And we'll all be the sadder, and poorer for it.

What would be the *point* of such a conspiracy, to engineer a
reason for us all to pay more taxes?
You would have to persuade 10s of thousands of scientists all around
the world, along with their Governments to go along with this scam.
Why bother with such an elaborate scheme, even if it was possible to
impliment?
When politicians want to raise taxes they simply *lie* about it in
the time honoured fashion, they don't cook up schemes that take
20 years to come to fruition!

No, the BBC haven't faced up to it yet. Instead, they're going
to try and push "post normal science" and redefine "knowledge"
and other such ********.

This is a tragedy! A senior scientist, who has been been fighting
against the ruthless campaign of disinformation financed by the US
oil, coal and automotive industries, and orchestrated by the the
extreme right wing politicians has been brought down for responding in
kind.

Cheers, Alastair.

Have you ever tried starting a bonfire of wet leaves?

If I were to write here that the person calling itself "Bonos Ego" is a self
confessed #'!"£$ $%^&*^*((! then that is some smoke; therefore there is
fire, and the statement automatically becomes true. You may want to dispute
this logic!

It will be interesting to see if there is a leak of emails from the
denialist camp ("ensure all comparisons start with 1998").

Is East Anglia the ONLY depositry of climate data?

I'm sorry Col but although I risk the rancor of some on here I can't
agree with that. I really believe that this group of scientist
started out with the agenda to prove conclusively that Western made
Co2 exclusively was tilting the world’s climate into a catastrophic
future. When the data failed to follow their nightmare model
scenarios they closed ranks, queered the pitch and starting spinning
like hell. The evidence is there in their own hand, they even went as
far to delete data. This is something I've learned during my years on
the left: with these people the ends always justify the means when
there is an ideology at stake.

How can the data from the CRU in East Anglia become the Holy Grail,
Ten Commandments and the Rosetta stone for the whole future of this
planet yet this is what's actually happened. A group of well
intentioned scientist start of on a journey to prove something and
that is humans; no the western world is wicked and wasteful and
therefore needs to be brought to heel. I honestly believe this was the
hidden agenda, albeit in their minds the right agenda but this lead
them all to research collate and then spin the results all on
fantastic state grants and at an enormous risk to the economic
stability of what is a rather rickety capitalist world system and if
we like it or not it's this economic system that has taken us out of
the dark ages in less then a 150 years.

The IPCC have played their sordid role as well: It was a heroic old
lefty Leon Trotsky who call the League of Nations a thieves kitchen
and that is precisely what the United Nations are today raising lots
of money based on the premise that the world owes something to the
third world and then lining the pockets of individuals pockets like
Koffee Anan’s son http://www.heritage.org/Research/Int...ons/bg1748.cfm
..

The AGW bandwagon was like a massive lets blame and hate the western
world, beacon that draws every unprincipled opportunist to claim
compensation for something that hasn’t even happened. Thus witness
Gordon Browns proposal for a massive annual fund to compensate those
third world victims of European well the UK and the USA profligate use
of energy. http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8120432.stm
Yeah right all that money is going to help the poor? That’s why I was
angry at last week reticence by this government to help victims of the
Cumbrian floods.

Anyhow back on topic: yes I do believe it was a good intentioned
conspiracy by these scientists to spin the data and the self hating
left and the United Nations gravy were all firmly in on the act.
Another old lefty friend of mine once said that the road to hell is
paved with good intentions and in the case of Jones, Trenberth, Santa,
Schmidt and co this really was the case

You may have the choice of buying oil, but do the poor farmers in
Bangladesh? Oil is now running out so your children and grandchildren
will certainly not have that choice, and the Bangladeshis, along with
everyone else too poor to buy their share of oil today, will never get
any.

The oil companies have no difficulty persuading the greedy people that
that global warming is not a threat, because that is what they want to
hear. It not surprising that the scientists fudged the figures to get
the message across.

Cheers, Alastair.

Alastiar: what do you mean by greedy people? At least you accept the figures
were "fudged" whatever you mean by that?
