Fascinating day of weather already, right from the outset.
Fog patches before daybreak with a solitary flash of lightning at 0538Z (according to my car clock) that coincided with the loss of "The Coast 106FM" for about 5 seconds (IOW transmitter struck?). In SE Wiltshire, there was a rare occurrence of day darkness at 1235Z just ahead of a burst of intense rain, and the wind veered sharply from south to west. Returning home, significant flooding along the A338 made for entertaining driving through the Winterbourne villages northeast of Salisbury as light brown water streamed off the fields. Now we have a thunderstorm in Romsey (began at 1503Z). Nigel (Romsey, Hampshire) |
