get the weather they get several days later you know "]

MILWAUKEE, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- A major winter snowstorm is
heading into a wide swath of U.S. Midwest, bringing with it possible
blizzard conditions, forecasters said Sunday.
The National Weather Service said a first shot of snow would
track northeast from the central Plains into southern Wisconsin
Sunday night and Monday, with a second, stronger storm expected to
hit northern Illinois and Indiana late Tuesday night and Wednesday.

ST. JOHN'S, Newfoundland, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- The Canadian
province of Newfoundland Monday was digging out from a record
snowfall of 15.5 inches in St. John's, weather officials said.
The city's old snowfall record for Dec. 6 was around 8
inches, set in 2002, which Sunday's storm easily surpassed, the
Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported.
The CBC said the snow, which was driven by wind gusts of
more than 60 mph, tied up traffic Monday and forced residents to
haul out snowblowers and try to navigate snow-packed roadways.
Officials said a crane had to be brought in to pull a city snowplow
out of a ditch.

Once the media picks up on our impending cold spell,
I'm waiting for:

Siberain blast set to hit Britain
Arctic freeze on the way
-15C, in massive numerals when only the usual suspects
liike Altnaharra would ever reach this temperature.

They have date records fro snowfall?
How meaningless.

Don't forget one of my favourites from 2001, the infamous "white hell".

Which reminds me, I'm told the Highways Agency have a new fleet of orange
snow ploughs this year. Presumably they didn't want them getting lost in the
drifts..

"Siberain" - that would be a good term to describe one of those
easterlies which doesn't deliver and just gives us several days of
cold drizzle.... :-)

But presented in a very informative and understandable way. A good presenter
and an adequate amount of time to get his message across. More useful graphics
than we see on TV here.

Yes they are informative and entertaining at the same time. This is the
expert analysis part of the site. Unfortunately they don't do anything like
this for Europe on a daily basis. Another forecaster here not afraid to
speculate and discuss two weeks ahead.

We have people here on the group doing this but a video presentation (in
this style) from Accuweather or the like would be welcome.
