Virtually unbroken sunshine all day. Just a small amount of cloud this
morning briefly blocking out the sun but for the rest of the day it was clear blue skies. This is the first really sunny day since the 17th October and shows just how unsettled the weather has been since then. In the end there was 7.1 hours of sunshine which is 89% of the total possible. There was a lot of cloud along the horizon to the north and east but it never came this way. Despite the prolonged, warm sunshine the air temperature stayed on the cold side with a maximum of only 7.3°C, after an overnight low of 2.8°C. 4th consecutive dry day; it's a miracle. The longest dry spell since the 15th of October. A beautiful starry evening, should get the chance to see any early Giminids, though tomorrow evening will be the best viewing time. Temperature holding up and even rising slightly in the chilly breeze this evening. (19:13), 4.2°C, RH 89%, DP 2.4°C, 1031 hPa (F), Wind 6 mph N. _____________________ Nick Otter Valley, Devon 83 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |
