Madrid is often surprisingly chilly at this time of the year. I think
it's partly because it's well inland and partly because it's quite high
up.

I'm surprised none of the cold-weather freaks eagerly awaiting the UK's
Great Freeze has noticed that here in Spain we have already had several days
of snow across large parts of the country, with roads blocked, schools
closed, etc.
