Returning this evening from a day in central London - where there was
hardly a patch of snow to be seen - this morning's 12 cm snow cover had hardly compacted at all, following a day max of -0.4°C and a little aftn sunshine. The air temperature has been falling fairly steadily since mid- afternoon, and by 2100 the screen was already down at -8.7°C, with the grass min exposed on the snow surface reading -14°C. -- Stephen Burt Stratfield Mortimer, Berkshire |

Unfortunately (for record-setting purposes) the weather must have changed - it started getting warmer up there in the evening. Only -3.7C there at 8am. It's colder here in Yateley at -6C, with about 7cm of snow still lying (and now frozen solid!) |
