Here's a few pictures taken around Tideswell this morning. Still a bit foggy,
unfortunately

Good pictures, Norman. Looks like they could be straight out of 1963!

Thanks for posting these Norman. We have family members travelling
over here tomorrow from Dore. I imagine the Snake Pass is treacherous.

2cm of snow overnight which is thawing readily (notably it's the 3rd
morning on the trot with lying snow which hasn't been seen here since
'95). Still, a wonderful scene for Christmas Eve and only 24 days into
the winter season.

Merry Christmas

Joe

And using auto white balance that gets confused in snow and makes
everything blue. Set the white balance to "daylight" for better
results and possibly open the aperture up a stop or two as the auto
exposure also gets confused by the very bright scence and stops
down.

Fair comment, Dave but it was just a quick set of photos with a cheapie camera
with everything set on auto. I need to do some experimenting - I make no claims
to be a photographer!

Sorry if I offended you it was just a general "how to take photos in
snow" post. As we get several inches (sometimes several feet) of snow
every winter photos of it don't do a lot for me unless unusual in
some way. Any snow rollers?

No offence taken, Dave. I would like to take better snow photos so the advice
is well taken. No snow rollers. The snow conditions were good for them but
there was no wind.

Great pics Norman, looks like Sporle in Norfolk where they had a thunder
snowstorm which left 8 inches of snow!

I went there for Xmas and there was still lots of deep snow even on Xmas
eve.
