We have felt the cold and the snow this winter here too,
that's for sure...! Today in a few hours time it has snowed maybe 30 cm - a foot! I measured the snow depth at last midnight - it was 53 cm. The last time I measured it was 88 cm. Maybe 5-10 cm after that. Between about 16:10-17:10 (local) it seemed to snow about 15cm, could be even more..! Hardly seen such snowing. I took some pictures to prove it. A window at my garage completely wanished under the snow in the process. Roads are becoming almost impasable even though continuos ploughing. If this continues here, this situation can become dangerous. Emergency phones set up for those snowed in. Bjørn Sørheim West Norway 62 deg.N 6 deg.E 40 m a.sl. |

While it is snowing, and because the shower clouds
come in from the ocean and northwest, the temperature is fairly high. Today it has been between +0.1 and -2.9 C. On Saturday without any clouds and not snowing, the temperature was between -6.9 and -12.8 C. That min temperature is the lowest I have recorded in many years, although it used to go down to about -17C previously - as the minimum temperature for the whole year for my location. At midnight it topped out at 94.5 cm snowdepth.
It seems to stop now, so maybe I don't need to extend the meter anyway..?! Bjørn "Bjørn Sørheim" skrev i melding ... We have felt the cold and the snow this winter here too, that's for sure...!
