We had fresh snow overnight, enough to make it the 17th consecutive day of
snow lying in Coleraine. I drove some 25 miles and was interested in the temperature gradient as one drove inland. My guess is Portstewart on the coast was about +2C Coleraine (4 miles inland) was +1C, but ground and snow freezing hard 5 miles inland it was -2C And by the time I'd driven 15 miles it was -5C. Everywhere the wind was a light northerly. The road had hard packed snow on it all the way. -- Mike Tullett - Coleraine 55.13°N 6.69°W posted 05/01/2010 10:38:59 GMT |
