M27 motorway has been snowbound for over 2 hours near Junc 9, people are considering abandoning their cars. This is quite, quite remarkable for my part of the World. |

This is an extremely serious situation developing. The snow could go on for hours looking at latest GFS, we are talking 40cm+ in places maybe. The wind is due to pick up Weds morning and that could cause accretion on power lines giving possible cuts. Be prepared for the worst this will almost certainly be a spectacular event - well predicted by the Met Office. Will -- |

Unfortunately *not* well predicted by the Met Office. -- Col Bolton, Lancashire 160m asl |

Just been out to measure it here, Stephen (2245). About 9cm on the car.
However, the temp has risen to +0.5 in the past half hour, and it feels like there are some rain drops in with the snow at the moment. -- Bernard Burton Wokingham, Berkshire, UK.
