Default Past weather records

Im tryinig to find the weather records for Cardiff UK during the 1960s
As a lad I can remember a severe winter I think 1963. I think the
temperature dropped to -27
Anybody tell me if this is correct or a weather link for past records

And while at it archived jetstream paths for that period and 1982 ? cold
spells.
Looks as though the principal jet component will be returning northwards
from its sojourn over N Africa Tuesday or so next week.
1960s jetstream records, would that be military records only?

For the OP microfilmed Times newspapers in reference libraries and local
papers

Yes, 1962-3 was exceptionally severe.

I think the temperature dropped to -27


That's definitely an exaggeration for Cardiff, as the record minimum for
the whole UK is -27.2C (achieved twice in Scottish locations in
different years, but neither was 1962-3). Unfortunately I can't point
you at an online source for Cardiff data.
