Night time temperatures haven't been exceptionally low in west Cornwall. My record low (since 1991) was -6.1C last January. Last night was the coldest of this spell (-4.1C). There were 4 colder nights in January 1997. Scilly needs a strong/gale easterly to get really cold, that just hasn't happened, it's just been a drift off the sea, mainly N-NE. Graham Penzance |
