On my patch coldest night so far with Air min MS7.8C and 6cm lying
snow at 0900. Despite the dire warnings continuing - after 5 cms snowfall yesterday morning on top of 2cm from Thursday nothing significant added since 1000 yesterday. Nil overnight then 2 Mini showers since 8am today, first was a bank of fog with grains like frozen drizzle, more recently a few flakes of 'proper' snow. . At all times traffic on A14 in this area appears to have been running normally. Deliveries to village shops continuing. Postmen right on time each day, despite pavements being untreated. Local bus seems to have always been on time. Local radio excitedly listing so many closed schools, mainly they say because the teachers can't get in. BUT lorry drivers seem to get to work then drive large distances each day (delivering as above) No one seems to congratulate the Council for at least keeping the main roads treated. NSS. |
