Default OT Guaranteed end to cold spell?

I have just taken delivery of some 'autosocks' to help traction in snow and
ice so I can pretty much guarantee it'll be mild and wet from now on!

I bought three pair of thick, woolly socks at the newsagent this morning so
I'm sure you're right. Mind you, the boots for which I'll be using them were
ordered and arrived just before the snow and that didn't work - or was it
the delayed-action cause of yesterday's snow failure?

Pretty impressive, Dave. And they do make a difference as I invested
in a set for my motor when I was driving back and forth to the Alps
three years ago.
Incidentally my concerns last night were not so much driving on the
snow myself (it was mostly snow!) - more to do with the other idiots
on the road who were driving past at over 70mph in risky conditions...
