A wild, wet and windy night.
After hearing of snow falling further west I thought we were going to get some of the white stuff here but only rain is falling now after a little bit of sleet earlier on. Have been frost free for the last two nights with the previous frost-free night being the 31st Dec. All the snow has melted and everything back to normal, i.e., nice and green. Ol' David Braine even hinted that 10°C was on the cards for the weekend; tropical! Got stuck in grid-locked traffic at Countess Wear in south Exeter as the A380 & A38 were closed with everybody trying to get home via the coastal Dawlish road. Nightmare situation, I ended up having to mount pavements/drive between lamposts/squeeze through gaps etc etc to get to the Topsham Rd roundabout and eastwards to Junction 30. Currently pouring down with rain, and howling a hooley too. (20:00), 2.2°C, RH 90%, DP 0.2°C, 997 hPa (F), Wind 18 mph ESE. _____________________ Nick Otter Valley, Devon 83 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |
