Default can anyone report on Ashford Kent?

I've been sitting here for over a week now trying to schedule some outdoor work that I must do near Ashford Kent.
Although its only 40ish miles away from Brighton it is a real pig to get to from here, as there is very little in the way of A roads running east to west - so the usual trip is up M23 to M25, around London and back down M20 - 2 hours in good weather (overland takes nearer 3.5 hours).

Anyway, I would appreciate any good reports on the state of the roads around Ashford, and the general conditions just east of the town, as I've a solid weeks work to do on an exposed East facing hillside.

Thank you kindly in anticipation...

Have done Brighton to Ashford in well under 2 hours if the M25 is clear.

Rain, 3C at the mo. Snow going fast. Out in the villages (Elham,
Etchinghill, Stelling Minnis etc.) has been very icy with a good 6" lying
snow with some drifting. All main roads are clear but side roads were still
covered with ice / packed snow yesterday. That's at height and inland
though. Coasts are now totally clear.

But, with this rain that arrived overnight, everything's going to change of
course!

Thanks Les.
whether or not the M25 is clear is about as tricky to predict as whether that cold wind will swing in from the east, perhaps a subject worthy of a whole new forecasting system.
My 2 hours was based on a cheap hire luton van btw.
