Brussels on Thursday 14th January 2010

Overcast for much of the morning but brighter towards midday. Cloud
cleared quickly in the early afternoon and the rest of the day was sunny
with a more or less clear sky. Light E to SE wind. Unexpectedly mild in
the sunshine but freezing again this evening.

Slow thaw continued overnight and the snow cover was much reduced this
morning. Strong sunshine this afternoon has melted more of it and only
patches now remain.
