A considerably colder feel to today than yesterday. Not *cold* exactly -
the 7.1°C max so far is well above anything seen until mid-month - but distinctly chillier than it was yesterday afternoon. I don't expect to get any snow here tomorrow - looks like one for Mid-Wales and maybe the Cotswolds - but I do expect the temperature to be lower still. The River Severn in the town centre is much higher, but still within its banks (just lapping at the old bridge pier, for those who know the town) and significantly there is no sigh of the flood barriers being erected. We're only at "Flood Watch" status, as is Shropshire, while the Welsh reaches have gone to "All Clear". Keeping an eye on the end-of-week rain, but for the moment we're okay. -- Bewdley, Worcs. ~90m asl. |
