Everyone will recognize that you just copied and pasted a load of **** about one of your hobbyhorses, providing more evidence that you're an idiot. Sucks you be you, GRUNTY. This is soc.religion.quaker. You are well outside the SRQ Charter. David Christainsen Newton, Mass. USA No it isn't Crunchy. It's uk.sci.weather, because you decided, in your infinite wisdom, that this rubbish needs to be cross posted. Well, it's what people are talking about and I believe it deserves discussion even if your context is to refute it or call it rubbish. So, here's the topic - is World Climate Data being Manipulated to Show Warming? But first, there is a snag. You called me Crunchy, knowing that I will not answer you unless you call me Mr. Christainsen. Now answer my question on your other cross-posted thread. I'm still waiting. David Christainsen Newton, Mass. USA- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - "I won't answer until he calls me my proper name". Sod the science, I'm going to sulk when I can't answer! 8(( I hope your quaker friends see how unbelievably trivial and pathetic that is. If you don't like seeing yourself called Crunchy - which as Graham rightly points out you called yourself(!! remember "Crunch"?? Or was that some previous life?), don't cross post to here. I doubt anyone will miss you, but I wouldn't pretend to speak for everyone. Crunchy; either go away and stop inflicting this rubbish on us, or grow up and answer the question. He doesn't have any 'friends' in soc.religion.quaker either, because he spams, he crossposts (bringing many folks totally uninterested in Quakerism into SRQ to continue his flame wars), and refuses to answer any questions even though he *demands* to be asked them, just as he does elsewhere. Feel free to lurk in SRQ for a while to see the mess. The popular hypothesis is that David suffers from Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Whilst its true that no-one, nto even a psychiatrist, can diagnose someone properly over Usenet, the behaviour David displays on Usenet fits the description of NPD text-book perfectly. Even though Quakers are an exceptionally tolerant lot (believing That of God is present in everyone), he got kicked out of his meeting (an extraordinary event in Quakerism) for continually disrupting the meeting - he did this by constantly harping on about his failed marriage. This is David's pattern: he has but a few topics he rants about (rarely using his own words), even though he only have a very simplistic understanding of them; and he raves about them incessently with the belief that his audience is hanging off every word he says. He cannot comprehend that no-one else is interested, and appears to enjoy negative (and even extremely harsh) attention just as much as (if not more) than positive and encouraging attention - all classic symptoms of NPD. The only thing that seems to work on David is to stop his narcissistic supply, that is, deny him any and all attention; to stop responding entirely. SRQ members have for the most part been doing this for years, however David continues to find other places to crosspost and thus other places to get 'attention'. That he crossposts to a number of groups so he gets a 'flood' of replies is part of his pathology (assuming the hypothesis of NPD is true), and he's clever enough to set different groups against each other so as to generate more posts to each thread he starts (believing that a large number of replies to any thread shows how important what he has to say is - and by extension, how important he is - regardless of the content of those replies). The only effective way thus far discovered to stop David's trashing of Usenet is to *not reply*. Apologies for breaking the thread and posting into uk.sci.weather, however it is unlikely David reads all the groups he crossposts to, and if I post to a new thread without crossposting, he's unlikely to see this, and therefore it doesn't form part of his narcissistic supply. SRQ folks, btw, do worry about David's welfa he seems to be getting worse. Many SRQ folks have been tried to 'get through to him' using any number of techniques ranging from loving kindness to harsh reality. So far, no one seems to have been able to reach him, although the 'ignore David' month a while back did dramatically cut down on the number of posts and crossposts he made. Yowie, from SRQ. -- If you're paddling upstream in a canoe and a wheel falls off, how many pancakes can you fit in a doghouse? None, icecream doesn't have bones. |
