Nothing less than wellies or sturdy hiking boots will do on
the quagmire that is the open countryside east of Romsey.
Last week, I was estimating the percentage snow cover on
the fields but now it is possible to do likewise with surface
water, the 'lakes' occupying about 20% of the fields upon
which the sheep graze.

Continuous moderate rain, or rain and drizzle since before
daybreak (which seemed like 10 o'clock this morning!) at a
near constant rate of about 1mm per hour.
