What a blatantly manipulative post. After the sympathy vote,
are we? And people are falling for it. Of course you don't
have to go. Just ease up on the tedious, repetitive, uninformative,
unfactual, political stuff. Perhaps you've not stopped to think
how mind-numbingly boring it is.

Not for the first time does Lawrence go for the sympathy vote. At least he's
not claiming to have a degenerative eye disease this time. Some people here
say they like Lawrence's sense of humour but I didn't see the funny side of
that joke - not even with my good eye.

Off topic, Lawrence.

I thought the general consensus was that as long as it was prefixed
people were happy?

Read the charter

Okay AGW Off Topic for UK sci.weather but on topic for UKMO. I see .

I would also add its impossible to discuss AGW without the politics .

You are quite wrong. The charter encourages discussion of
climate topics *"from a scientific standpoint and not a political (or
environmental-activist) one." What's difficult about that?

But he has added 'OT' and 'AGW' so that those who wish
to do so may filter them out. This is accepted practice on
other groups and seems like a fair compromise.

That's what I thought Col, *I could carry on as usual but I've now got the
big guns against me and if I don't toe the line I'll become the pariah of
the NG. *It's not in my nature to be selective or measured with this topic
so I'll guess I'll have to go elsewhere.

I will say in my defence, that I've pulled a few legs , taken the mickey,
made umpteen spelling mistakes, talked rubbish, set out to make some points
and hopefully with a sense of fun and self deprecation. I've never
consciously *set out to hurt any ones feelings and have only given a bit of
stick back after some had been thrown my way.

I do believe in climate change but not to the extent of the moaning minnies
who hate everything that humans have achieved and naively think there was
another choice.

Weather has been politicised and UKMO is the definitive proof of that as its
services have extended further into gobbledygook.

I can't cover up my irritation, anger and disbelief so to stay here would
just make it unpleasant. So after ten years its goodnight from me.- Hide quoted text -

Completely riduculous. Sorry, but it is. I've met these faux threats
to elicit sympathy before and their implicit attempt to tar someone as
a bad guy. If you don't like the response, don't post the political
stuff, or post it elsewhere. If you have a thick enough skin to keep
doing it, despite a little criticism (and that's all you've had), then
more power to your elbow. I've got far more respect for someone who
sticks to their guns and backs what they say with good argument than
someone who wheedles for sympathy like that.

I give you a day sulking before you return, or maybe a week, or maybe
a month, or not. The quicker you get over it and post again, the
easier it will be for you and the better for the rest of us.

It's difficult to predict but at the moment I am going for a return at
about T240 - but models are undecided;-))

The UKMO was showing no return, but just mild comments from the SW -
whereas the GFS (Guns for Sydenham) showed the possibility of the return
of biting diatribes from the east end by Friday.

I'm going to e-mail Joe and ask him if he might know - he seems to have
a feel for this particular kind of breakdown ;-((

Cheers

James
