Some heavy snow showers this morning (2cms), no sun as yet.

Current temp 0.3c

Looks likely to be the last snow for some time but we did get 15 days snow
falling and 15 days snow lying this month, quite amazing in the present
climate.
Snow amounts were only 1 to 6 cms so nothing to right home about really.
When you consider we had more snowfall in 24 hours in January 1979 than the
whole of January 2010, it puts it into perspective!

Did look like we may get the first cold February since 1996, but that's out
of the window now so mild or very mild Februaries continue, this will be 14
consecutive now.

Despite all the hype surrounding February 2009 (turned out average), only 4
being close to average the remainder either mild or very mild.

Still if Feb turns out to be around average or just above, this winter will
be the coldest since 1996, however if the atlantic really kicks in and
February is mild, the Winter will end up no colder than 2009.

Mild or VERY mild? Bold statement at this stage Graham.
Damn, I wish I could underline words on newsgroups lol.
I acknowledge the fact that you also think it could turn out to be average
or just above too. Average is always my safe bet.

February would have to have a mean of +9.5șC, for the current winter to be
milder than 2008/2009 in this part of Scotland.
Now that's what I'd call silly. If that happened I would believe in global
warming over climate change... Over six degrees departure from normal over a
whole month, who ever heard the likes in the UK....

Weather, you've got to love it. Even if sometimes you hate it as well.
Alex.
