Last comment made was a return to colder weather next week but nothing
like as bad as the previous cold spell.

If I was
retired I would be flying to Verona tomorrow and then getting on a train due
north into the Dolomites :-)

Hmm interesting, Will. Mrs and I are off for a spot of winter walking/
skiing tomorrow ...... to the Dolomites!! We fly into Innsbruck and
are bussed south from there. You are expecting us to get fireworks
next week? The Italian forecasts aren't making a very big deal of it
for the Dolomite area - plenty of cloudy weather forecast with light
snow Tues/Wed. Seems there won't be any problems with lack of the
White Stuff anyway!

A blizzard? Large Hail?
Get a face full of snow on a gust of wind would perk me up and make me run
for cover.
Perhaps a perky shower is a shower that runs for cover? Or perhaps it is one
that falls upwards?
The village of Shotts, not so far from here and a little higher up, often
has rain and snow falling upwards.

"It's snowing up in Shotts"
"It's raining up in Shotts"

Alex.

In article
,
Dawlish writes:
FAX charts are certainly suggest some possibilities for snow in the
east on Tues and Wed, with troughs and little lows developing and
pestering the east coast with potentially perky precipitation
(whatever that means). *))

The ECMWF and UKMO 12Z runs for T+144 both show a trough crossing
eastern and southern England on Friday afternoon. The UKMO model makes
rather more of it than does the ECMWF. It might be worth keeping an eye
on.
