... :I would imagine some places managed one last year? : Here in Wishaw we have to turn the clock back 14 years to the 6th Feb, 1996. Brussels Uccle maximum -0.1ฐC on 2nd February 2006 and before that -1.3ฐC on 1st February 2003. These seem to be the only 2 freezing days in Brussels in February in the last 10 years, i.e. since the year 2000. Colin Youngs Brussels |

I would imagine some places managed one last year? I was about to say 3 Feb 2010 but it rose above 0C about 2230. Looking at the monthly graphs: 1 & 2nd 2009 23 & 24 2005 22 2004 3 2003 27 & 28 2001 There are many days where it just gets above 0C for a brief period. -- Cheers Dave. I'm not sure the coming week or two will change that? Hi, Alex 3rd Feb last year Copley, before that 2006 before that 2003, then 2001, 1999, 1996 etc etc I'm amazed at your February 1986 figure. From my record I estimate at least 15 from my previous site 100 metres lower (6 there). Mean max was 0.9C so I estimate -0.1C or lower here. Some areas were below 0C for the whole of February 1986 locally. I estimate the absolute max here was around 1C on the 28th Best wishes, Ken Copley, Teesdale My figures are almost very similar to yours, the exceptions being none in 2003 but one in 1994 (the 14th). In 1986 there were no less than 15, plus 1st March (max -2.2ฐC). The mean max for Feb 1986 was +0.1ฐC. Just missed! Tudor Hughes, Warlingham, Surrey, 556 ft. |

The max temp for the month was only 3.0. There wasn't a lot of snow, though. The deepest that I recorded was 7 cm. Norman |
