Not something I would use lightly. Can I say mini-blizzard based on
duration! Snow heavy then wind got up and visibility down to about 40 metres. Blowing every where off roofs , trees etc.Temp dropped from 2C to -0.4C virtually instantly. See he- http://www.laindonweather.co.uk/trends.htm Bearing in mind that's in a Stevenson's Screen. Everywhere white with about a cm of snow and more in the drifts that form. Lasted about 15-20 mins and shower showed well on radar. Interestingly the snow is melting on the road despite the temperature being -0.5C because it was such a rapid cooling the road is still warm. The opposite way round to normal! Most notable event of the winter here by far. Dave |
