Not the nicest of days, really. Cold throughout so far (max 2.5C up until
now) and something falling from the sky most of the time. Rain with a little sleet at 11.00, for example, but moderate snow (and settling, at least on the grass) around 14.00. We're now back to light sleet with the temperature at 1.4°C and rising gently. There is/was a noticeable difference between the town centre at 25m asl, here at 90m and the top roundabout of the Bewdley by-pass at 120m. Some of the cars coming down from the higher ground to the west (Shropshire hills etc) had quite a bit of snow on them; I would imagine that the Clee Hill pass would have been fun! And then there's tomorrow. Some people seem to be dubious as to whether the warning area may be a bit too far west, but we'll see. What an interesting winter this is for snowfall: I can hardly remember a single week when there hasn't at least been the genuine chance of snow here, even if it didn't actually transpire. -- Bewdley, Worcs. ~90m asl. |
