Default [WR] Hard frost FZFG and catching the winter of 1978/79

Low of -7.2บC so far this morning. Freezing fog just starting to approach
from the South and bringing the temperatures up a little.
Could this be the February ice day?

The mean temperature for February has now fallen back to +0.9บC , the
coldest winter since 1962/63 is now very much within reach in this area as
the mean temperature for the three months is now only fractionally above
1978/79's by 0.07บC at +0.27บC.

What an exceptional winter!

I often fnd that too...

Last night here it fell to -5.1, making it the coldest night since 10
January. The mean February temperature is 1.8C here though - but I
think that would still be the coldest since 1986.

This looks like it might be the sixth consecutive day of gloriously
sunny but cold winter weather. The temperature in the shade in the
greenhouse yesterday reached 20.2; very pleasant.

I wish you luck Alex.
Coldest since 1963 eh, now that would be something in a world where all the
emphasis seems to be on warmth! Even if only in your area.
