Not sure how to describe it, but it looks most like soft hail or
somesuch here for the last hour in Bournemouth (centre, seafront area). Quite heavy and has settled on all surfaces. Looks like it's very localised as the radar doesn't really pick it out - from my vantage point on the East Cliff, it looks like it's just a very narrow stretch along the coast, so possibly the cliffs are coming into play. Nothing in Evershot. Nice afternoon, with blue sky and some cumulus. Hugh -- Hugh Newbury www.evershot-weather.org |

Shows up well on the AVbrief radar, exactly as you described it. It seems to have hopped across the Isle of Wight as it stretches Eastwards, Poole to Chichester Harbour. All to the South me in Fareham though. Coastal convergence? -- Dave Fareham (W) |

The heaviest (producing hail) were at about 2, and just before 5. That said, neither were that heavy. Seemed to be a localised area of cloud cover with clear skies to the south and north, which aligns with other observations here. Nick |
