Once the rain cleared at 10:30, and the wind veered SSW, it's turned
much milder. Temperaure at 13:45 11.6C, the highest since 20th Jan.

Still coldish in Southampton, but very, very damp and gloomy - hard to
believe we're less than 4 weeks from the spring equinox! Feels more
like Nov or Jan than late Feb.

Looks like there'll be more W and N winds later in the week though,
which should be a lot brighter.

Eventually reached 11.8C this afternoon with just a Force 3 WSW and
prolonged sunshine http://www.sennen-cove.com/today2.htm

Average temperature here this month now about 1C higher than Feb 1991.

Ruddy Hell! A heat wave. You wouldn't fancy sending some of that 11.8C up to
Northampton would you. 50% of it would do nicely, thank you. Maximum at
Pitsford today +2.4C

jim, Northampton

Graham the suckers gap did not apply to hot foreign countries, only the UK!
