Light snowfall started mid evening and turned moderate by midnight.
But the main feature was the wind which really picked up blowing the snow into blizzard conditions at times on the high passes of the A686 and A689. Drifts 2-3 feet quickly formed, most of the drifts were formed by the old snow helped by a little fresh stuff. Back at home in Brampton we have moderate snow now falling and settling Temp +0.7c / Dewpoint -0.4c Wind NE steady 10knots Paul C Brampton, Cumbria www.bramptonweather.co.uk |
