Sorry to state the bleedin obvious but it never fails to amaze me how
the media tends to ignore anything that happens north of Watford. There seems to be a very serious and significant snowfall event unfolding in the Highlands yet you read hardly anything about it in our press. It might as well be on the other side of the world .... |

I was going to complain about the anti-Southern bias as we haven't had any in Essex, but then I don't believe in all this News bias nonsense ;-) Dave |

Where are the images / reports of the 5ft drifts at the top of Nevis Range. Surely if the BBC can send out more staff than there are British competitors at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver they can pay a local guy with a skidoo a few quid to get them up to the top of these ski stations in Scotland? |

To be fair it is the top headline on the right on the UK page,
This sounds bad though "Severe weather has been forecast to continue to affect the north of Scotland until the end of Friday when it will "die out", the Met Office said. A deep storm is affecting the NE USA again too. Crazy headlines like "SNOWACANE" have been bandied about. |

There has been coverage, but I think it has been fair. And I'm one of the first to jump on what I perceive as southern bias! The area affected is thinly populated and therfore the number of people likely to be affected is relatively low. I think I am right in saying that the more populated coastal areas have had rain or not significant snowfall. Secondly, this is The Highlands and they are used to heavy snow, though this is pretty exceptional even for that area. -- Col Bolton, Lancashire 160m asl |

Sorry Scott but that is absolute garbage. as I prepared to go to work this
morningI was listening to the Biased Broadcasting Company breakfast slot with Bill Turnbull and co and I couldn't believe how they were prattling on aboot the snow in Scotland which affected such a small portion of the Britains population I thought it was a typical slant by the BBC. The weather forecast should be aimed at where the highest amount of the population will be affected, I mean there a far more people in London then there are in all of Scotland What do you want a highlighed weather for where no one actually lives?
