A fantastically sunny day. The sunshine recorder switched on at 07:04 and
turned off at 17:49 giving a total of 10.7 hours of uninterrupted sunshine. That is 96% of the total possible. You have to go back to the 8th Oct (10.7 hours) to equal it, or to beat that you have to go all the way back to the 10th Sep (12.4 hours). Mind you, it was a damn chilly night with one of the coldest nights of the year and the coldest March night I have recorded (since before 2005) with a minimum of -5.2°C. The day maximum was 10.7°C, and in the near calm conditions with strong sunshine it felt warm this afternoon. Very dry air. At 15:15 the RH was 41%, DP -2.1°C with an air temp of 10.5°C. Another starry night with clear skies though it doesn't seem to be as cold as last night. (18:45), 4.8°C, RH 69%, DP -0.4°C, 1029 hPa (F), Wind 4 mph WNW. _____________________ Nick Otter Valley, Devon 83 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |
