Enough consistency from the ECM and agreement with the gfs for this: **At T+240, on Friday, 19th March, the weather in the UK will have an Atlantic origin. Pressure to our south will be high and the winds will be mild and between south and north-west. It will follow a short- lived, colder, northerly flow which will bringing to an end the colder weather in the east and conditions by the 19th will be warmer in most areas of the UK than they are presently. Any interruptions to the Atlantic flow will be in transient ridges of high pressure and any snow will be confined to the highest hills. There will be some pleasantly warm daytime weather in many areas in around 10 days time, if we manage to escape any rain.** I certainly have my fingers crossed for this one. Finally Spring might arrive for many. A good 10-day forecast? The models showed this pattern change 10 days ago and this was an occasion when they could be trusted. Spring has certainly arrived for many this week - at last. Unfortunately, Dawlish has not managed to escape the rain today and it is not pleasant! However, temperatures up to 18C in England yesterday and very little frost, if any, around last night means we've waved goodbye to winter - for a while at least! |
