Default Sahara duststorms

For the past couple of days there has been a very extensive and thick
duststorm over a large part of the Sahara. On visible imagery the dust can
be seen spreading in a vast plume out over the Atlantic and southwards over
the Gulf of Guinea.
These images (infra red difference between spectral channels 4 and 5) from
today's noaa19 overpass show the extent of the dust (the white areas on the
images)

Hope it doesn't affect north migrating birds such as ospreys f/ Senegal
etc. unduly.

Hope it doesn't affect Northern Morocco where I will be for a couple of days
at the end of next week.

Ooh you name dropper you!

I've been trying to remember what else happens in such spells, beside
the British Army making strategic advances.

Injudicious strategic advances.

Hey; is that what the MetOffice fell over for? Feckinmoc is doing the
same.
