To be honest I wasn't 100% sure what it was going to do this weekend but the impression I was getting from posts here was that the fine weather was going to continue for the moment and any fronts would be weak. Light level seems very low, almost winter like, though whether that's habituation to the near-continuous sun of the last couple of weeks I don't know. No measurable rain here in Fareham, Nick. Rainfall radar indicated a short period of slight rain last night but surfaces were dry two hours after the time it should have ocurred and I don't think it reached the ground. 22 consecutive dry days here (trace or none) and counting. -- Dave Fareham (W) That's weird, Dave, I'm only a few miles from you (Cowplain) and it rained from 06:20 to 08:45 yesterday. For a while around 7:15 it was quite heavy. |

For a while around 7:15 it was quite heavy. Yes, that sometimes happens hereabouts, in the gap between the S. Downs and IoW. There was *some* rain I am sure, probably in a 10 minute window around 6 am here, when the 5 minute radar shows a narrow band of moderate intensity here, the rest of the time it shows up light or very light (and may or may not have reached the ground). Southampton Airport METARS never show more than light rain. There was a drop in my "proper" rain guage but not measurable, and the tipping bucket guage didn't tip so I've had to record it as "trace". -- Dave Fareham (W). |

Trace of rain here in Haytor too - just 4.6mm, (which for Dartmoor is a trace :-) ). Will -- |

Less than 50mm in a month (we are heading that way at the moment). Driest month on average at Haytor is May with 86mm. Will -- |
