Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on Saturday.
Issued 0444z, 4/05/10. The weekend still looks like seeing a cool north to northeast flow over the UK with an omega block west of Iceland. Northern and northeastern areas are at risk of rain but even elsewhere the odd shower can't be ruled out. ECMWF: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Recm1201.gif Northerlies cover the UK as the result of a high near Iceland and low pressure over France. There are further northerlies on days 6 and 7 as high pressure persists to the NW. MetO: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rukm1201.gif The Met Office run shows the UK between a high to the WNW and a low to the ESE, with NNE'lies on both days 5 and 6. GFS: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rtavn1201.png Low pressure covers France, leading to NNE'lies over the UK. There are northerlies on day 6 as the French low moves eastwards, followed by NW'lies as a trough moves southwards on day 7. GEM: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rgem1201.gif GEM shows a low over England and Wales with NE'lies elsewhere. JMA: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rjma1201.gif JMA brings NE'lies for all with a large high near Iceland. |
