Is that 19.7 right? I don't see it on the temperature map for today,
also I thought it was supposed to be a cold week this week?

Looks wrong. The maximum here was 15.0°C, and that only a brief
spike. The minimum was -0.1°C, the 12th May air frost in 28 years.

.... we only see the 3-hourly SYNOPs for 03770, but yesterday (5th),
the values for 12, 15 & 18Z we 14.3, 14.4 & 14.1°C, with OVC SC.
Unlikely therefore as Tudor and Nick wrote that a value of 19.7 can be
justified. Perhaps 'human' interference given the location?

I thought it was probably wrong but had no immediate means of checking
it.

Currently surfing and posting on a small netbook as my desktop PC is
awaiting repair - having failed last week following a power cut.
Very slow and awkward.

.... not to worry, Colin: such problems will pale into insignificance I
fancy after last night's events .... a lot of 'number-crunching' in
the Palace & Cabinet Office I fancy :-)
