.... rain up to 09Z (most fell in hour ending 20Z) = 2.8mm;
'interesting', but hardly dramatic, and will do little to alleviate the dry conditions that have taken hold hereabouts. Sky reasonably blue: on my scale of 0(white)-10(deep blue), it is generally 8, with 7 looking towards the sunward horizon. What was interesting was the obvious 'sheen' of three oily droplets on the top of the rain collector before I shook it up to read. No local sources for this - could be an incontinent bird I suppose, but looked more of an 'industrial' oiliness.
