There was some time ago a thread in this group about national weather
presenters which grouped them into three categories: top notch, hopeful futures, dismal ones. My top notch picks: Philip Avery Peter Gibbs Laura Tobin Helen Willetts Susan Powell Alex Deakin And that would kind of be it, perhaps Jay Wynne comes into consideration too. Your choices? |

I'd agree with most of your list, but I haven't been impressed by what I've seen of Laura Tobin. -- John Hall "Acting is merely the art of keeping a large group of people from coughing." Peter Gibbs I do like. Authorative, no nonsense and tells it like it is. My favourite presenter is Rob McElwee though. I like his rather quirky and teasing style though I appreciate some people find him intensely irritating. I've not seem him for a while though..... Worst by far is desperate Dan Corbett. Too awful for words, barely watchable. -- Col Bolton, Lancashire 160m asl |

The relentless smile, and she also gives the impression (I'm sure wrongly) of not really having much understanding of the weather. Or forecasters you find downright annoying or dismal? The ones who seem to put more effort into coming across as friendly than they do into providing an intelligible forecast. -- John Hall "Acting is merely the art of keeping a large group of people from coughing." Especially the voice/tone. Someone mentioned here it's as if he tries to prove how clever he is in front of some mates in the pub. |

Suzanne Charlton is good as well. :-) She is. Apparently, now works part time for the BBC, I haven't seen her in a while. There was also Isobel Lang, but she moved to sky. She studied maths, I believe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gD9icL2prA |
