Cheltenham is either the warmest place in the country in the summer
half-year, or you have a very sheltered location, or there's something
amiss with your thermometer or your screen.

Well we did use to hold the UK's temperature record...

, or you have a very sheltered location

That applies to the whole of Cheltenham...

, or there's something
amiss with your thermometer or your screen.

I've noticed that, at this time of year, in this sort of weather, the
temperatures I record are often near the top of the list.

Yes, it's because it seems to happen so very often that you're ahead of
everywhere else that I wondered whether something might be amiss.

Shouldn't you also ask Gravesend & Southampton about that, though?

Possibly, but that's not so easy as they don't post to usw. Also I
have the impression that you finish top of the list even more often than
they do.

I don't think it's more than 2-3 times a year, though - and it only ever
seems to be in late spring.

Ah, OK. I thought it was a lot more than that, but that may just be a
subjective impression on my part.
