Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on Tuesday. Issued
0430z, 21/05/10. The middle of the week will see cool northerlies or NW'lies over the UK, with a small risk of grass frost inland. ECMWF: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Recm1201.gif Northerlies and NE'lies cover the UK, with a low over France and a high over Greenland. On day 6 there's little change, but by day 7 cold NW'lies cover the UK with a low to the NE. MetO: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rukm1201.gif The Met Office run shows a trough over Scotland and NE'lies elsewhere. The trough moves over the North Sea on day 6, leading to northerlies for all. GFS: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rtavn1201.png The UK lies under moderate NNW'lies, with a ridge to the west. Lighter NW'lies cover the UK on day 6 as the high to the west declines. On day 7 light northerlies cover the UK, with a high to the NW and a low over Germany. GEM: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rgem1201.gif A mixture of northerlies and NE'lies covers the UK, with a low to the south and a ridge over Scotland. JMA: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rjma1201.gif JMA brings a col and light winds for all. |

Will be a welcome relief! Not if you're supposed to be flying to Sardinia on Friday (first time I've flown in about 12 years, typical). Booked long before all this Eyjafjallajokull‎ nonsense. |
