On a side issue - in the month widely regarded as the driest ever (Feb
1891) Cheltenham recorded just 0.04".

A very interesting few months from Dec 1890 (very cold) to Mar 1891 (the
great West Country blizzard).

I think we are going to get a very wet autumn. I really need to find
out more about ridges and troughs and how they develop. Any
suggestions anyone?
