Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on Wednesday.
Issued 0537z, 22/05/10. The latter half of the working week will see a northerly flow over the UK, although winds will probably be rather light. With cold air aloft, daytime highs will probably be slightly below average and as the strong late spring sunshine causes convection some scattered showers are likely. ECMWF: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Recm1201.gif Light northerlies cover the UK, with a ridge to the NW and a low to the SE. Light winds affect all areas on day 6 due to a col, followed by northerlies on day 7 as a ridge lies to the west. MetO: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rukm1201.gif The Met Office run shows northerlies due to a high to the west of Iceland. NW'lies cover the UK on day 6 as the high to the NW declines. GFS: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rtavn1201.png NW'lies cover the UK due to a high to the NW. A col brings light winds to all areas except Scotland on day 6; Scotland lies under WSW'lies from a low to the north. There's little change on day 7. GEM: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rgem1201.gif A small low covers northern France, leading to NE'lies over the UK. JMA: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rjma1201.gif JMA also brings NE'lies, this time with a ridge from the NW over the UK. |
