A bright ol' day with a reasonable amount of sunshine (5.4 hours), but
rather windy with gusts between 20 mph & 30 mph.

A max of 18.7°C after a low of 11.8°C.

As May comes to a close this month looks like ending on a mean +ve
temperature anomaly with the day mean max well above normal but the mean min
has suffered due to many cold nights at the beginning of the month.

It has also been dry with just 42% of the average rainfall.

After a dull start, sunshine has been plentiful during the last 2 weeks and
the monthly total now stands at 196 hours.

The countryside has now taken on that 'summer' look. The may blossom is
still out, being about 1 month later than usual, and easily the latest I
have known. Possibly the cold nights for the first two weeks of May were
responsible for the delay.
